Lord Save Me Lord Save Me! I was just thirteen and attending church with some of my friends on my block, in Amityville, New York. I would attend Rescue Mission, this is a church, it is actually a house church that a lot of people went to in my community, I would go with some of my neighbors. Elder Corn, Sister Corn and their children I was one of those kids on the street that seemed to always travel with the Corn. It was in the month of August of 1974, Pastor Tom, had a tent Revival in the center of the town of Warriors, New York. Evangelist was the sister of Evangelist Artist Smith, she was a very tall dark skin woman, who preached the word of God, and the Evangelist name was Vicky Loven’s of Trenton, New Jersey. She was beautiful and really tall, and brought the word of God. After preaching, she gave an alter call, I went up to the, alter for prayer, I wanted what she had. Now you have to understand that this was a tent Revival and we were outside, the flooring in the tent was a wood chip. There were folding chairs in the audience for those who attended to sit on. I went up for prayer, school would be in a few weeks and I wanted the Lord to keep. I stood in line as others went before me for prayer and when it was my turn, for the Evangelist asked me what I wanted the Lord to do for me. I said “I want the Lord to keep me,” her response was, are you saved? I said no! Then the Evangelist Loven’s said to me, “How is the Lord going to keep you and you are not saved? Then, she told me to take my fanny up on the stage and get down on my knees and cry out to the Lord and cry to him and ask him to save you. I went up to the stage and got down on my knees and the people on the stage were stand around other people who were also on their knees crying out to the Lord, saying Jesus -Jesus. I said there with my eyes closed calling on the Lord to save me. A little while later, I felt someone pick me up and put me in a chair. I was still praying to the Lord to save. I was so caught up in the spirit that I fell over in my chair onto another chair. The Lord was working on me, after church someone put me in the Corn’s car and all I knew was that I was still praying. Then next night after the Evangelist finished preaching, I went back up for praying and the mothers told me to get back on my knees and call on the Lord. Praise the Lord, each night I walked up for prayer and someone had to carry me to my seat. I remember one night my younger sister came with the Corns and me to church. I went out in the spirit and when they put me in the car, I slid down on the floor of the car. I was still calling on the Lord, I remember hearing my sister crying and asking the Corn’s was I dead? They told her that I was praying and was alright. I was saved now and was tarrying for the Holy Ghost, like the disciple tarried in the Upper Room. By Saturday night, it would be the last night of the revival and the Lord really had his hands on me. The Evangelist was staying at the church, upstairs apartment and Elder Corn took me and his children Ronnie and Meg to tell her good bye. Evangelist Lovens kisses each of them on the cheek but when she got to me and kissed and hugged me, I went out in the spirit. Evangelist Loven’s gave me a scripture the “Psalms 91” and told Elder Corn’s to have me read it three times before I went to sleep. Elder Corn’s had to carry me into the car, I remember that night it was thundering outside and all of sudden the Holy Ghost begun to speak through me. It was lightening and thundering in the skies and the Lord was speaking and I remember Elder Corn pulling over to the side of the road. When I finally got to Elder Corn’s house, his wife, Mrs Corn; that’s what we called her came and got me and helped me in the house, I remember they were praying and thanking the Lord. I read the scriptures and went to sleep. That night, something happen on Ben Clare Drive. God is my witness every car that was parked on the street, someone went thought the block and hit every car. Every car had a dent in it. Psalms 91:1 states; He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. In the King James Bible, the division has a total of 16 verses. If you have a bible, read it for yourself and when you read it, bear in mind that I had to read it three times before going to bed. Praise the Lord as I write, I can feel the tears beginning to form in the corners of my eyes. The Lord is so good, Praise the Lord he is so good. If you have not thought about it then you should. It is very simple to bow your head and close your eyes, asks the Lord to come into to your heart, repent of your sins and asks the Lord to save you. You probably are saying what is Save? Salvation is to have a repentive spirit and becoming a servant of the Lord. Observe the following scripter’s Roman 10:8-10 states: : 8- But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach. 9- That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raise him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10- For with the heart man beleiveth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. You can continue to read this chapter for comfort. Do you have a church home? Then I want to say that if you don’t belong to a church, search out a Bible preaching church. You want to seek a church that is lifting up the name of Jesus and preaching the word of God. Then, you got to be faithful in bible study get in his word and let the word of God get in you. Stay away from churches that is talking against the government, those are cults. All you have to do is pray and ask the Lord to direct you to a bible preaching church. Listen! If you have children, and you need to take them also to church plant the fear of the Lord into their life. When your child, has the fear of the Lord in their live, his presence will keep them stable, I am not saying that they are not going to have trouble in their life. When the youth has the fear of the Lord, they will know where to go with the cares of life become more than what they can bear. When you go up to the altar, bend on your knees, this is the start of humbling yourself unto the Lord. I know you might say hey they don’t do that well, all I can say is times has changed but these days, it seems we are in the mindset that everything has to be fast. Do you remember when your mom still warms the Cold food in the oven? Now we have microwaves. The mentality of the people and even in the church is to just stand; well it’s alright but God knows it got to be in your heart. When it is in your heart, you want mind Spending some time with the Lord. Make sure you have an open line of communication, with the Lord. This is your insurance so that when problems arise, you can go to the Lord to deliver you from your problems. Remember to present yourself in a humble position when you talk to the Lord. I think bowing your head and closing your eyes demonstrates to the Lord your sincerity to him. When you do this, you are surrendering yourself to the Lord and asking him to take control of your life and you are now surrendering to his will of your life. ….Love and be
