I Love to Do Business with You
I love to do business with You,
Talk with You
And walk with You.
‘Cos I can share my life,
Cast off my strife.
Get a better perspective.
Get selective
About the things I do.
Come on, get JC in view.
Find He is true.
JC loves me to the max.
It’s crazy, but my heart melts like wax.
No one else can do that.
In His eyes I’m no statistic.
And it doesn’t matter what district
I live in
Or what sin I have sinned,
When I repent and relent,
I’m spent on You
‘Cos You love me through and through.
Wanna do my best
As You put me to the test.
But when I don’t do as good as I could,
You chuck my wrong
Far as the east is to the west.
Come on, get JC in view.
Find He is true,
And you’ll be made brand new!
Are We Living in a Bubble?
Should we be doing ‘trad-church’ in a postmodern age?
Or is it time to explore and turn a new page?
Through dynamic shifts in History,
We are now thinking differently.
Isn’t it time that we engage?
Let’s not be in a bubble,
Or the bubble will burst one day.
There just has to be a new way.
Some are disillusioned
And not likely to
Walk into a church building,
Crying out, “What do I need to do
To be saved?”
We live in a different era.
Pluralism and relativism are ever nearer.
God wants to dissolve the sacred/secular divide,
So let us on this day decide
To seek God in this matter
Of reaching those who are yet to know,
And not to get stuck in a rut of traditions.
But without losing our core beliefs,
Step out without inhibitions!
Yellow Pyjamas
I was thinking of wearing yellow pyjamas
Because I’m completely bananas
About you.
Or maybe I should feast on cheese and biscuits
Because I’m crackers
About you.
Or should I grab some roasted cashews
Because I’m nuts
About you?
But when will my love be reciprocated?
Should I forget these crazy thoughts I have?
When will I be able to say,
“Yes, okay, let’s name the day!”
I’m still single
And I’m not interested in a Kindle
With novels about
How they got it together,
Whatever the weather.
And all the love songs that drift on the wind
Just serve to make me feel blue
When I think of you.
Oh God, just when, just who?

About the Book
“Heart to Heart” is a collection of poems which mainly explore the meaning of life from the perspective of the author’s faith in Jesus. These poems do not profess to be ‘clever’. They are simple to understand and get to grips with. They are a spring-board to finding out more about God and although the subject-material is serious, some of the poems have a humorous slant.
In reading these poems, it is hoped that you yourself will put ‘pen to paper’ as it were and write down your own thoughts and aspirations whether that be in the form of Prose or Poetry. Get started and see where it will lead…
Written originally for the Royal London Hospital’s Radio Station: “Whitechapel AM”, the Poetry in “Heart to Heart” is intended to be for a wider audience to encourage, challenge and inspire. Take a look inside and discover for yourself more of God’s ideas. He is still communicating today and it is the author’s prayer that much of the content of this book will speak to your heart and that it will lead you into the adventure of a lifetime!

Catherine Ayre is from London, UK and lives in the literary city of Norwich. Having become a Believer in Jesus through praying in desperation: “God do you exist?”, one way she tells people the reality of God is through Poetry. Although called to write, she is also involved in Prophetic Bible Teaching and Radio, where her poems have been broadcast.
