Christian,
You made a conscious decision. You accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Through his unconditional sacrifice, he made it possible for you to have forgiveness of your sin and eternal life. This is magnificent!
With this truth refreshed in your memory, in all fairness, are you pleased with your life in the Lord? Do you have joy and peace flowing from within? Do you truly love Jesus, your Savior? Are you consciously aware that he faithfully followed through with a major promise, which you are experiencing right now?
At this moment, Jesus is physically at the right hand of the Father in all his glory. And at this same moment, his Spirit is eternally dwelling within your saved soul, just as he promised. This is cause for great comfort and confidence.
Do you know the Holy Spirit? Have you accepted that he truly lives in your redeemed soul?
The fact is, Jesus loves you so much that he is responsible for the Holy Spirit permanently residing in your soul. Jesus asked the Father to send the Holy Spirit to you. It was through the perfect sacrifice of Jesus’s death on the cross and his glorious resurrection from the dead that you have received the magnificent promise of promises—the Holy Spirit. It is through him and his never-ending guidance that you have eternal life with the Lord Jesus.
Christian, if you could place a one-through-ten rating on how important the Holy Spirit is to you, what would it be? Since you said yes to Jesus, have you given the Spirit consideration? Do you acknowledge him daily?
For many Christians, the Holy Spirit is only sparsely acknowledged. The truth is that he is reality. He is God. Therefore, he plays an equal role with Jesus and the Father. Once actually realized, the Holy Spirit’s value in the Christian’s life becomes daily reality. For many Christians, a lack of understanding and acknowledgment plays a major part in keeping the Holy Spirit at a distance or completely left out of the picture.
It is because of the above truth and through my own personal experience of not initially giving the Holy Spirit his full place in my life that I am compelled to share with you, through the evidence found in God’s Word, the Bible, his everlasting importance in your Christian life.
Over my years as a pastor, I’ve come to realize many Christians merely acknowledge the Holy Spirit’s existence. Sadly, the Spirit of God is left out of the daily scene. This is not God’s plan. It is because of the immense love God has for us that he has openly given each of us his Spirit.
Here is your opportunity to knowingly get plugged in and connected. Jesus willingly did the work on the cross for the forgiveness of sin. Through his resurrection from the dead, he lovingly paved the way for you and me to have eternal life with him. It is through the Holy Spirit that he promised you and me that our gift of eternal life is secured; and he—the Holy Spirit—daily works within us that we will realistically enjoy and exercise our salvation.
Christian, the Holy Spirit is your Counselor, Comforter, and Guide. He is your Sanctifier and Sustainer. The moment you received Christ as Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit entered your saved soul, taking up permanent residence. And from that very moment, he truly began his work in and through you. This is not only exciting news but is also God’s will, purpose, and eternal plan for you and every Christian!
Step together with me into this truth while you allow the Holy Spirit to joyfully reveal himself to you through the agape love of the Father displayed to you through Jesus the Lord.
It is through my excitement after a number of years of hands-on research and practical experience that I will now share with you, in book form, the importance of the Holy Spirit in the life of each Christian. I have also come to the serene understanding that all things work in God’s timing and to his good purpose, centered in love. The crux of our existence as redeemed ones of Christ rests in the continued daily guidance of the Holy Spirit, which was ushered in through the unconditional sacrifice of Jesus through the will of the Father.
The perfect reason God placed his Spirit in the Christian heart is love. This is so important, yet we tend to overlook the obvious. If an affirmation can be given with all exuberance, it is the simply profound exclamation “Yes!”
Out of the depth of his heart, God first said yes when he chose to create us. And from out of the depths of our redeemed souls, it is his desire that we say yes as we accept him as our Creator, Savior, and Sustainer.
Without a doubt, we are loved by him from the core of his everlasting existence! He loves us so much he gave his one and only Son as the perfect sacrifice for the sin that separated us from him. “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).
It is through the Holy Spirit’s guiding that we are equipped to daily do the good works God has prepared for us to do. Unless we have a Guide, we have no positive direction. God would not have created us without a long-term plan in place. That long-term plan is the working of the Holy Spirit in our daily Christian lives.
Yes, it is God’s will that the redeemed are eternally guided by his Spirit of truth. God loves each one us—the redeemed in his Son—so much that he has set his Holy Spirit within our saved souls. This one truth standing on its own should bring great joy into your Christian life. I pray your life in the Holy Spirit will be one of immense fulfilment—so much so that you will yearn to understand his daily importance in all our lives, and this in cooperation with the redeemed of Jesus, as we celebrate life on Earth and eternal life beyond.
Does God have a plan for you? Yes, he does! He has lovingly placed within your redeemed soul the active daily guidance of the Holy Spirit! Begin a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit today, and be awakened to your life in Christ Jesus—the one who promised you his Holy Spirit. Meet the promise Jesus faithfully ushered into your life when you accepted him as Lord and Savior.
Yes! It all began with love!
