Intercession is the ministry that allows believers to approach God in prayer on behalf of a person, place or situation. It allows us to change the state of governments, nations, any leadership, needs of the world, injustice, violence, instability, basically anything that we perceive does not align itself with the Word and will of God. “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Matt. 6:10
The purpose of all intercession is to let His Kingdom come, His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Since Heavens’ plan is to invade the earth, there are no limits to what we can intercede for, because heaven is perfect in all.
Intercession brings us to the place of reflecting the ways of heaven on the earth. It forces the unorderly and chaotic structures of this world to align themselves to the Word of God.
Intercessors are invited to ask for anything they desire by God Himself. If God Himself makes an invitation, we can be sure He will make good on it. He will back up what He has invited us to ask for.
By its very nature, prayer is a battle we engage in against the enemy who stubbornly refuses to give up what belongs to God’s people. Daniel 10 clearly shows us that the devil opposes our prayers.
Several Scriptures tell us of this continuous battle the believer goes through in their walk here on earth. (Eph. 6:12; 2 Tim. 2:3; 2 Cor. 10:4).
Intercessors must have a warrior like mentality, a mentality that takes it by force. Intercessors take the battle to the devil. They engage in war through prayer for the sake of God’s people. The Bible makes several promises about God releasing things that belong to satan, and prayer is one of the most effect ways to do this.
