“The perfect life,” Chris said in a low voice, almost to himself.
Georgia looked down at her hands. “It is. Some people would give an arm and a leg for the life I have now.”
Chris sat back again and kept his eyes on her. “Do you really believe that, Georgia? That you have a perfect life?”
“Sure, I guess you could say that.”
“Then you believe in perfection?”
Georgia exhaled loudly, as if the answer were obvious. “Perfection has to be attainable. Why else would so many people make it their goal?”
“But it’s not real. In the end, it’s like chasing the wind. No one’s perfect, not in this world, anyway. I was where you are now, Georgia. I was lost, alone, and confused, not knowing which way to turn. Perfection isn’t possible in this life. No matter how you keep up the façade that everything is going great and cover up your faults, you’ve still got the same cracks in your life that you did before.”

About the Author
Danyele Patrick lives in Texas and is an elementary teacher. She is married to her best friend, Rease. Even as a child and teenager, she has always loved to write. She loves to read, and most of what she writes she has picked up from books she's read. About writing, she says, "I write about things I know (small towns), as well as things I do not know as well (acting), but have learned from other books. Writing is a passion that I have always come back to and will always love."
