It made me ask myself: How can God – Creator of all that is – hate one of his creations?
God’s judgment coming out of the mouth – or in this case off of the hand – of the human creature is something to be wondered about. We can speak about what we believe or how we understand the words of the Holy Bible but to pronounce God’s judgment is a mighty bold thing for anyone to do. I am just not sure that I would want to take on that responsibility because there are so many references in scripture that tell us that we are not to ‘judge’ another person. And yet, I believe that to pronounce that God “Hates” is surely meant as judgment. So, I would like to spend sometime talking about this pervasive attitude in our culture today. I want – in this book—to talk about the effect this kind of mentality is having on those who are as yet still uncertain about this God that we are called upon to believe in. And, I can’t help but wonder – and have to ask those so willing to speak for God -- what kind of a picture we as ‘Christians’ are painting for those who have so many honest questions about this God who claims to be the Creator of all that exists – this God that ‘Christians’ are representing to a world in need of his truth?
