About the Book

No one ever said that life would be easy. Challenges will invariably confront anyone who dares to step out in faith, even those who believe that they can eventually solve the many mysteries of life. The author was confident enough to attempt many new work opportunities that presented themselves. Stepping out of one’s comfort zone is typically a secret recipe for adventure, usually cloaked in success, especially when committed to using a bit of common sense. From logging to construction to wheat farming to cattle ranching to driving huge grain trucks to communication cable installations to avoiding rattlers to even walking in the presence of grizzlies and rams, the author was privileged to taste a touch of what life has to offer. He wasn’t disappointed!

About the Author

Working primarily as a timber faller for nearly twenty-four years certainly had its advantages, including no time clocks to punch as well as being in the great outdoors. By necessity, drawbacks follow close behind as surely as the setting of the sun every day. Bodies gradually wear out and surely slow down. Likewise, the author was slowly weaned from the rugged woods work and into a variety of less dangerous occupations. Jobs like carpentry, electrical repairs, plumbing installations, and the privilege of working on a five thousand acre ranch, with its myriad of challenges, absolutely thwarted any chance of boredom. On the contrary, priorities, innovation, and efficiency were often mandatory, just to complete a daunting task. Rather than shy away, the author reveled in the challenges and the opportunity to solve and complete to perfection. For the author, variety was the spice of life, especially in the daily work routine.
