When Walt became an old man, he moved inside a disabled veteran’s home. Most of his family were no longer alive, lived far away, or were no longer staying in contact with him. He felt lonely but knew he still had JESUS!
One day, while at the veteran’s home, a group of people from the Huntsville Dream Center met Walt. They visited to share the love of CHRIST and to pass out gifts. Amongst the group was a four year old, named Aleesa.
The day prior to meeting Walt, Aleesa lied to her parents. She accidentally tore tassels off her mom’s pillow but denied doing it. As punishment, her dad took away all of her stuffies.
Aleesa asked JESUS to forgive her. She prayed this too, “Please help me get out of this mess and get a stuffy back. Amen.” She cried herself to sleep.
Aleesa and Walt smiled the day they met; yet, they were sad. Aleesa longed for a stuffy and Walt for a family. Neither knew the desires of the other’s heart,
but JESUS knew…

About the Book
The Day I Met Walt is based on a true story about a four-year-old little girl named Aleesa who got in trouble for not telling the truth but learned a life-changing lesson from that one mistake. She immediately went to Jesus for comfort. And not only did he comfort, he forgave and continues to show his love and remarkable grace. Through this lesson of repentance, God gave her a gift and a new family friend and restored hope and joy in the heart of a burdened soul. By empowering Aleesa to write this book, Jesus is continuing to bless many others through the retelling of this simple but remarkable story! May your heart be joyous in the Lord today and every day as you experience the power of his love!
About the Author
Aleesa was blessed with an ability to read by the time she was one, and she began writing her first book, The Day I Met Walt, at the age of four. She has already experienced many faith-building moments in her life, which leads her to believe that we should trust God even when things don’t always happen the way we desire. She loves God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, family, friends, you, and dessert. When she gets to heaven, she believes her first question to God will be “Can I have your dessert?” Her wish on earth is that the whole world would know how much Jesus loves them!
