I momentarily looked up from reading the paper and I noticed a shimmering glow on the trees, coming from the mid-morning sun.
It was very moving.
The feel of the air; the sight of the illuminated trees against such a clear blue sky; the various sounds of nature permeated an otherwise quiet Sunday atmosphere.
As I paused to enjoy this moment, I spoke out to God: “You know Lord, you sure have made a beautiful day!”
Suddenly, I had a physical sensation that started at my belly and rose up over the top of my head.
It was like a thin beam of energy surging across my torso, gently moving upwards.
At the exact moment the sensation began, there was also a huge voice that seemed to fill all of creation.
I am sure there was no discernible direction this voice was originating from.
But it was audible to my ears, and not from inside me.
This was a powerful, authoritative voice that just seemed to saturate everywhere at once.
It was a mature, male voice, and it was most certainly God!
God said “The burden of fear and worry is passed on from generation to generation.”
I did not even try to move in that moment.
For those 7 seconds, my normal world came to a halt.
I was in God’s presence.

Recognizing the outstanding power and authority of Jesus for the first time in his teens, it was not until many years later that the author delved into gaining a true understanding of God and Jesus through the Holy Scriptures.
He and his wife were trained in the fundamentals of faith, and were baptized with the Holy Spirit early on.
It was many years later that God revealed His love nature to the author, an understanding of His essence that God continues to develop.
Since faith depends on the power of love to work, the development of both are necessary.
The author has been given a special gift of understanding, to reveal this essential nature of God which is shed abroad in the hearts of all believers by the Holy Spirit.
