FORGIVENESS
With great sincerity I prayed that I could be forgiving concerning the things that hurt the most over the last 10 years (2000-2010). There was a lot of hurt to overcome; so much loss, anger, and sadness.
I know that being able to forgive is equivalent to being forgiven. The problem I/WE have, is not knowing or understanding the hurt that was dispence to others. They won’t tell you, but they may tell others.
Psalm 139:23-24 Search me O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
I asked God to search my heart. My sister in faith asked me to go to those who were part of that hurtful past, to exchange apology and forgiveness. I told her I would not go; can words dispel what deeds do not confirm? She challenged me that I had not forgiven. So I had a talk with MY FATHER. God let me know that I had forgiven; it was simply that I no longer trusted. Looking at love and trust from this vantage point was “a whole "nother apple”. It brought a wider concept of why trusting in god matters so much.
There are so many unhappy people who can’t forgive or trust God because of the difficulties of their lives. FAITH, TRUST, FORGIVENESS, & LOVE…They wrap around each other like a ball of rubber bands. Eventually they make a ball big enough to bounce!

About the Book
Although many suggest what they think a “good Christian” should be like, spiritual growth comes in bits and pieces through uncharted waters. Out of life’s experiences we present a glimpse of our journey, towards the maturing of our faith.
About the Author
Connie celebrated her seventieth birthday in 2016. A native of Philadelphia, she was the fourth child in a family of seven, including her parents. She graduated trade school to become a seamstress in 1964. In the 1980s, she became an insurance agent, licensed for life and health coverage. In those years, she was also actively involved in community service, where she directed two different preschool nurseries for ten years each. She obtained an associate’s degree with the intention of becoming an underwriter. At fifty-five years, she retired early. After the death of her oldest son in 2004 and the economic crash in 2005, she returned to work. In 2009, she moved to Georgia to be near her remaining son and his family. She returned to the AME faith of her youth and currently works full time in health and wellness management.
