Although you and I cannot stop them from saying the mean words, you can allow the truth of my Word to be a shield that protects you.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14
Their words are not true, my child, I promise.
Do you remember what I have told you in My Word?
Oh, if you would only look to my word and know the truth about who you are in me, their words would not sear your heart as they do.
Let’s work on building up your shield of faith, so that those fiery arrows of destructive words will not lodge in your heart.
Maybe tomorrow?

About the Author
Janet Christian has enjoyed being the Director of Children’s Ministries at First Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville for the past twenty-three years. She has been uniquely gifted by God in both her writing and her interactions with children.
She is thrilled to begin putting her writings into storybook form in the hopes of encouraging both young and old in their walk with Christ. Janet cherishes her husband of over thirty years, Don, and is most proud of their children, Matthew and Sara. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, gardening and being a stained-glass artist.
