The beginning of the Gospel, the birth of God’s dear son.
Gabriel came to Mary and said, “Greetings, blessed one!
Please don’t fear oh Mary dear, for God has favored you.
You will conceive and bear a son, and name Him Jesus too.”
But Mary asked, “How can this be, since I’m a virgin still ?”
The angel said, “You will conceive—’tis the Holy Spirit’s will.
Remember… no word from God can ever go astray.”
So Mary said, “I serve the Lord, may it be then as you say.
My soul will glorify the Lord, my spirit will rejoice.
My Savior God is mindful of His humble servant’s voice.
So generations from now on, will call me Blessed One,
for all the Holy, Mighty God has mercifully done.”
