Worth the Wait

You see, we are all created for relationship. But it seems like one of the most difficult things in life is finding your lifelong someone. We know. We have both been there.

Before we met, we prayed and believed God for a godly spouse. We read our Bibles, looking for qualities of godly men and women. We each made our special wishlist for a spouse. We tossed our list. We re-vamped the list. We sought counsel. We read books on relationships (and hoped that there was a dummy’s guide for one). We waited. And waited. Waited some more. In our hearts, we just wanted to honor God while we waited.

Was it easy? Heck, no! We had absolutely no clue how long the waiting would take before we would meet each other. We didn’t even know we existed as we prayed at the opposite ends of the world (USA and Philippines).


But was it possible? Yes, by His grace.

Nine years (for Corey, eight years for me) and three nations later, we finally met. We almost did not start the courtship because I was on my way to my third nation as a missionary. But with the US government shutting down two months before I headed out to relocate, my travel plans suddenly changed. And God opened the door for us to be together.

In this book, we will share our story (ups, downs, and in-betweens of our meeting, our friendship, courtship, engagement, and marriage) and we hope that the principles we learned along the way will help you in your waiting season. It’s not a cookie-cutter book that when you’re done with the steps, poof! Your spouse appears, fully baked and ready for you. Instead, it is our hope that this book ushers you to God’s best for you.

After all, it’s not easy. But trust us. When God authors your love story, it’s all worth the wait.
