In a season of my life the Lord began speaking to me in such depth about butterflies.
He began showing me how a caterpillar is bound to earthly things. A caterpillar is not able to get from one place to another without being attached to someone, or something, whether the ground, a tree, or whatever it is that he chooses to crawl on. He is needy and can get nowhere without being attached to someone or something.
But once he goes through the painful process of transition, the metamorphosis process that separates what was to what will be, he is never the same again. This process closes the door to the past and opens the door to our future. It is a painful experience for the caterpillar, one that he would surely not choose if given that choice.
So until we are willing to go through the process that brings us to mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wholeness we will never be able to soar through life with the liberty and freedom that God has intended us to have.
Once we go through the transformation from who we were to who God has created us to be, we will no longer need or be dependent on people places or things the way that we used to be, the way a caterpillar is.
A caterpillar is bound but a butterfly is free to lead and set the pace. A butterfly can soar through the sky and go where no one has ever gone before and do what no one has ever done before. God has called us to be butterflies, to soar through life in liberty and to lead the world to victory and freedom in Him. It is a difficult and painful process for some, and because of that many do not make it through the transition and unfortunately are never totally free and whole, but for those who do, they are now, able to lead others into wholeness through the power of the Holy Spirit.

“As I was approaching my mid-forties, I was as weary and broken as a human being could be. “ Living in bondage for several years, had taken its toll on me. I was barely existing.
Although the Spirit of God was always with me, I was unable to gain a breakthrough until I finally, and totally, surrendered “ALL” to the Lord Jesus Christ. When I let go of everything, regardless of what the outcome could or would be, was when the miraculous began to take place and happen in my life.
The Holy Spirit used simple and practical elements in nature to impart deep and life changing revelation into my soul. One of the most powerful breakthroughs I received, was given to me through the revelation of the metamorphosis process that butterflies go through. It was through that journey that the blinders began to slowly fall off.
Born into a fallen world, we must have a transformation experience through the redemption and shed blood of Jesus Christ. Just as the butterfly goes through that very painful transition from what was to what is to be, “from the old man to the new creation,” we as children of God must also go through this process. Liberation is beautiful and so worth the process.
Remember, once a caterpillar transforms from crawling on the ground to a beautiful butterfly soaring through the air, he can never go back. He is a new creation. Not a perfect creation but a new creation.
