What a Savior!
Jesus was not good looking, yet people are drawn to Him. He was a man of sorrows, yet He brings joy. The hate of the world was upon Him, yet He loves without restraint. He grieved because of unbelief, yet He carries our grief. He had brothers and sisters, yet He calls you and me His family. He lived in poverty, yet feeds millions. He was oppressed, but delivers us from oppression. He died a criminal’s death, yet He is our righteousness. He was the victim of violence, yet He brings peace. He went like a lamb to the slaughter, yet He is captain of the angelic hosts of heaven. He succumbed to death on the cross, yet gives eternal life. He yielded to defeat, yet reigns in victory. He carried the wounds of vicious lashes, yet He is our healer. Paradoxically, He bore the burdens of the world so that the burdens would be no more. He was born in a lowly manger, but will return the Lord of Lords and King of kings. He holds our today and our tomorrows. Because of Him we have the fruit of the Spirit -- love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. What a Savior!
