That can be a struggle in this hour we are living in. The world is full of division and stereotypes. If someone were to ask you to define who you truly are, what would be your answer? Would numerous thoughts of others opinions of you come to surface and you pick which to speak as your identity? Would you let a situation you’ve faced become your answer to define you or would you look at the color of your skin to determine your answer? My purpose for this book is to help individuals find out who they are so that instead of living a life comparing to others, you can be secure in your identity. I want you to understand that you no longer have to measure who you are by what you have. I want to help people to stop putting themselves on a popularity scale weighing yourselves and your self-value by the standards of the world’s approval. We must know that no one has to chase money believing that their identity is determined by the riches they possess. I know many of us grew up saying “I just want to be rich when I get older”, so we chase money not knowing that what God has placed in you can produce what you need. It was a journey for me to find my purpose and to discover who I am. My story, which later became a testimony is what inspired me to write this book. I went from being a soldier in the U.S Military to being a veteran at a young age. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of nineteen. This is an unfortunate health condition that devastated me. I went through the stages of “why me?” and being upset that my life seemed to be changing for the worst. The condition made me legally blind and through me losing my sight, the Lord helped me to truly see who I am. Jesus is a healer and I do not want you to doubt that. Through me becoming legally blind my eyes were opened to see from his view. God has truly changed my life and helped me to see who I really am in Christ. I want this book to set your eyes on discovering who you truly are. Focus on what the word of God says about you and not what people opinions say about you. In the Bible it says “before I formed you in the womb, I knew you,” (Jeremiah chapter 1 verse 5 NIV). Right there let’s us know, it is God who knew us, before anyone else. Just meditate on that. I struggled with believing a lot of opinions growing up so when I came in contact with Gods thought about me, it blew my mind and was hard to receive at first. The potential that God has placed in you may seem uncommon according to the opinions that have been said about you. The time has come for you to discover yourself. To know your identity and to be able to discern what’s not your identity. Let us open our hearts and our minds and be ready to receive. I thank God for you and I pray you receive what the Lord has to say through the words he led me to write and that it blesses your life abundantly!
