Out of the mouth of a child
I woke up the other morning and I was filled with so much anxiety, and all I could do was lay in my bed and stare at the ceiling. I began to pray and for some reason I picked up my phone, and I saw that the very same person that I was thinking about had sent me a link to a video. I was curious to see what it was pertaining to, so I decided to click on it. As I clicked on the link, I saw a picture of this little boy. So, I opened on the link, and what I saw and heard changed my anxiety into rejoicing. This little boy was so handsome in his little suit and tie, he looked to be about four or five years old.
He could hardly pronounce the words of the verses that he was quoting, but they had such clarity that stirred my very soul. There was an adult reciting the alphabets to him, and for each letter of the alphabet this little boy would say a verse from the Bible that begun with that letter of the alphabet. He started with the letter A, and without fail he would give a Bible verse for every letter of the alphabet. Suddenly, my mind left my problems and began to focus on this little boy and the words that was coming out of his mouth. For all 26 letters of the alphabet he gave a Bible verse that penetrated my soul and brought joy back into my heart.
One letter and verse stood out more than all the others, it was like he was speaking directly to me and my situation. When he got to the letter R, he said,” rejoice, in the Lord always, again I say, rejoice.” I knew it was the hand of God, because I felt the anxiety complex shattered to pieces as soon as the word of God was spoken over it. Let me explain, have you ever saw a building being torn down by a giant crane, with a wrecking ball attached to the chain? When the giant wrecking ball smashes into the building, it is demolished, the same affect happened when the words of that Bible verse met my anxiety. The Bible verse that the little boy spoke, was like a wrecking ball to my anxiety.
It demolished all my worries, doubts, and fears. I immediately got up from my bed, went into the living room, got my Bible and started praying and praising the Lord for that little boy and my friend that sent the link to the video. I looked up the Bible verse, and I began to read it and think about it as I applied it to my life and my situation. The verse that the little boy quoted is found in Philippians 4:4 and it says,” rejoice, in the Lord always, again I say, rejoice.” As I began to read even further, verse six and seven brought everything into perspective. Which said,” be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Verse six said,” be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Through prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving we are to make our requests known unto God. Sometimes we try to solve our own problems, and that causes even more problems. The Bible tells us,” to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these other things shall be added unto you. When we come to God and ask him for the answers, and how we should handle the situations, He shows us what to do to get the victory, and He will get the glory for it all.
As I laid on my bed that night I began to pray, and God led me to pick up my phone which had the link that had the little boy quoting Bible verses using the alphabet. Out of the mouth of a little child, using the alphabets to quote God’s word to shatter the anxiety that was devouring my peace. Isaiah 11:6 says,” the wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.” This little boy led me out of my anxiety complex with God’s word, and the peace of God that passes all understanding, guarded my heart and mind through Christ Jesus.
Christians do not have to live in a state of anxiety, worry, fear, and confusion. In fact, being anxious and afraid is sin. The secret of overcoming anxiety is to rejoice constantly in the Lord and pray to God, thanking him for his provision, his goodness, and his mercy, both past and future. When you know that your heavenly father is taking care of your business, you can allow the peace of God to fill your life. God’s peace is not dependent on outward circumstances. It is supernatural peace that comes from the confidence of knowing that God is in control. Be encouraged my friends, pray and seek the Lord, and he will send the answer to your problems and anxieties also.
