I am convinced that the greatest need of humanity is not more stuff, bigger houses, a better looking spouse, more government, fancy cars, bold coffee or pumpkin spiced coffee, nice clothes, or hype-filled church experiences. Most these things are good, but they are not what fills the emptiness of our souls. The greatest need of humanity can only be found over the sun.
When we realize that Jesus must be at the center of all of our activity, we will find purpose and a meaningful life. What unites us as followers of Christ is the Gospel of Jesus – the fundamental belief that Jesus is Lord. That is how we find meaning. We can strive for the things of this world,but what do we gain from that? It’s simply meaningless.
My prayer and hope for the everyone is that we will echo Solomon’s cry - that we will find our meaning and purpose in what is over the sun – Jesus Christ.

Matthew is the Lead Pastor of Refuge Point Church in West Point, Georgia, a thriving multi-denominational church in a small town. He loves speaking, writing, playing music, renovating things and loving people. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Lagrange College in Lagrange, Georgia and a Masters of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty University. He currently lives in West Point, Georgia with his bride Merinda, and their three kids, Jude, Nora and Ezra.
