In His Hands

My prayer before diagnosis:

Dear Lord, not knowing what’s growing or occurring inside me can cause me to worry and fear. However, I make a choice, a pledge to You, O Lord. With your strength, keep my eyes on you. In your grace remind me of your goodness, love, your Sovereign will and plan. Worry turns my mind to me. Praising you turns my mind heavenward. This is my choice and I choose life in you, not in the fleeting world. I choose a cheerful heart, clothed in strength and dignity. I choose your will above all else. I pray this problem is not a big one, but no matter what, I choose you and you alone. I choose to come to you for rest for my soul. You, O Lord, are my all in all. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen

E-mail communication before surgery:

Dear Sistas, God granted me a doctor and surgery date, next Tuesday June 28, 2:00, at the Presbyterian Main Hospital. I will have a complete hysterectomy with additional action as needed. Things may get difficult, but with the Lord as my strength and you as my prayer warriors, I will walk through this, holding His Hand and clinging to the following verse:

For I am the LORD, your God,

Who takes hold of your right hand

And says to you,

Do not fear;

I will help you.

Isaiah 41:13
