PROVIDENCE
I woke up this morning thinking about "Gods promises of provision"
Psalms 34:10 "The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord LACK NO good thing."
The bible has so many scriptures on how God wants to provide for us, how he wants to give us good things and how its in Gods will for us to live in abundance.
Deuteronomy 28:12 “The Lord will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. And you shall lend to many nations and not borrow”
I know this to be true from personal experience. No matter what the circumstances I have been in, I have seen the hand of God provide over and over again in miraculous ways, not only for myself, but I’ve been a witness of his awesome provision for others too.
Manuela was a young lady who had been abandoned by her parents at birth. Her mother left her in a basket on the doorstep of a woman named Phyllis Jones. Phyllis had been praying for a baby of her own, but she was beyond her childbearing years. One day she opened the door and here was this baby who needed a home and a mother and someone to love her. Phyllis just knew her prayers had been answered. What was to come for Phyllis was beyond her wildest imagination. The little girl became the apple of Phyllis’ eye. They went on trips around the country, Phyllis dressed her in the finest clothing, she sent the little girl to the best schools and Manuela in turn loved and adored her mother day in and day out. The two of them having each other was like heaven on earth. The two were inseparable. As the little girl grew older, Phyllis realized the girl had a love for music and multiple talents. Among them were singing and playing musical instruments, writing songs and all things musical. The girl loved to sing so much, even sometimes making up songs that she would sing while she was sleeping. Because Manuela loved music so much, her mother decided to nurture her talents and sign her up for voice and piano lessons. Phyllis was very poor and used every dime to care for her “miracle baby” as she called Manuela. But she trusted in God every step of the way because he had blessed Phyllis with exactly what she was praying for. As the girl grew older it became apparent to everyone who knew Manuela, knew that she was gifted by God with special abilities in the field of music. Her mother was relentless in exposing her to all kinds of music, spending every dime they had making sure Manuela was growing and learning all that there was to know about music. When it was time for the young lady to now become an adult, she was headstrong on furthering her studies and honing her craft into something that could bring honor and a better life to her mother whom she loved so dearly. Unfortunately, Manuelas mother Phyllis didn’t have the money to send Manuela to the top music colleges. So at night while Manuela was sleeping, Phyllis would call out to her father God and ask that he would make provision for Manuela to go on and do great things with her music and her life.
God knew that he sent Manuela to be all that Phyllis needed and gave Phyllis to Manuela because she needed a mother. God gave the two a special love for each other and honored the fact that Manuela wanted to please God by using every gift that he gave her, and honor Phyllis for sacrificing so much for the girl.
When it was time to go off to college, God opened up the floodgates of heaven and gave Manuela scholarship after scholarship to continue her studies. Her mother did not have to worry because God made magnificent provision for them both, again. Years went on and Manuela became a leading musician and producer in her industry. She won all kinds of awards and Grammys and accolades and she never forgot her mother Phyllis. She showered her mother with gifts and the finest things in life. She wanted to return all the exceptional love that Phyllis had given her throughout her whole life. Phyllis was beside herself with overwhelming joy that God had given her so much. He made provision over and over again just like he promised.
We get so beat down to the ground sometimes. Some days it feels like we’re walking through a war zone. Dodging boulders and falling debris and managing conflict and ducking the fires; our journey on this planet was not meant to be easy and without hardship. And God made it this way so that we WOULD HAVE to depend on him. Sometimes I get to the point when I don't know which way is up, the ground has disappeared beneath me and I feel like I’m sinking... But God NEVER FAILS to show up and make provision. I’ve been on the ropes in the 12th round on my way down knocked out by the circumstances of life and lo and behold, God steps in and PROVIDES the strength, the comfort I need, the patience I need, the Grace I need, the freedom I need, the bravery I need to make it through whatever situation. We need him always and his provision is a promise that covers a multitude of needs. He can facilitate above and beyond anything that we can imagine! Therefore he will provide the means, the opportunities, the connections, the open doors, every single part that we need. But WE have to do our part and believe! #Godwillprovide
