"TIMES OF CHOOSING"
So, why do we detach from the truth, and choose paths that lead us to destinations that we hate upon arrival? What are we thinking, when we are faced with decisions, be it big or small, making us prefer or choose one path over another? Imagine for a moment two strings with objects tied to one end, and a person holding the other end. The strings are slowly being pulled down two different paths, but you do not know where the paths may lead. The person holding the end of one string whispers, “Come on...This way”, “Come on...This way!” On this string, you see carefully tied images of money, a beautiful home, prestige, a nice car, extravagant vacations to your favorite places, abundant food, and lots of friends to enjoy the bounty. The person holding the string is quite good looking, with the stance of POWER! They are well dressed, and words slip like butter from their tongue, so tantalizing, so beautiful! They have it all, so surely, they know the path to choose. Just look at them! Behold them, you can’t even take your eyes off of them. In your mind you’re thinking, “It’s my lucky day”; “my ship has sailed in!” You look behind, to make sure no one will follow your footsteps, because this treasure is meant for YOU! After all, you have worked hard, and you deserve it! “Wait, what about my family? “Oh no, they will be fine, they will adjust". "Wait until they see what I bring back to them.” “Man, I am the bomb!” You look around once more, making sure the coast is clear, “Whew, no one is following me!” You begin walking, never questioning that good-looking soul, who is offering YOU such an opportunity. You know if you question them, you may lose out on the treasure. You begin walking, trying to grab the end of the string, as it escapes your fingers each time you attempt to grasp it. But you won’t give up, YOU are going to get it! Just try harder and keep walking! No one will take what’s yours!
Meanwhile, another person has walked up to the other string. Oh wait! You think, did I choose correctly? “Hah, YES, I saw that string, there wasn’t even anything on the string, and it looked to be a vagrant holding it. SUCKER! Ha, Ha, and that idiot started following it .....a path to nowhere!
They both disappear into the distance, and we won’t know for some time, where the paths led them. This visual concept tells us much about the thinking behind many choices made. Humans often just swallow anything with little question, getting on board as quick as possible, so we won't lose our proverbial prize. We become willing to turn our heads to the suffering of others, or selfishly grab what we can, hoping no one discovers our bounty. It also, reveals toxic trends that are under way, while most grow numb to the happenings around them. The relevant points, when receiving information is how we choose to act, or not act upon it. We must take time to weigh and measure details; not just absorbing instant gratification for ourselves. Instead, thinking about how our action or inaction will impact those around us, eventually creating a toxic wasteland we are forced to deal with. We become the very sources responsible for how the information impacts our lives and society. What can this mean about our choices from the past, and our daily choices now? Do you believe the historical tragedies against mankind in the past and of today are somehow different? Or, was it that very little thought went into the choices made? Could they have just been emotionally connecting to the items on the string? Did their emotions and ego take over, having them choose to follow the lessor of, lust, greed, selfishness, fitting in, even willing to accept deception or harm to others without question? The truthful answers we derive from proper questions of ourselves and others, may just be our Greatest HOPE. Do we have the courage to LOOK and VIEW the TRUTH, then making appropriate choices for ALL of Mankind and a sustainable future?

Her strong perception of human behavior, combined with her humble beginnings, forced her to invent ways of overcoming disadvantaged positions. She learned to use disadvantage as the advantage. Her no-nonsense, paradoxical style takes creativity to new levels for generating results and needed change. Her philosophies have been applied and proved successful in a variety of personal and business situations.
