Honey, You’ll Think You’re Dying!

I had invoices to put away, so upon returning from lunch I was standing in front of the file cabinets when all of a sudden my heart began to race. Pounding as if I'd ran a marathon, a feeling of fluttering was rising up in my neck. My throat felt like it was closing up as if I were being smothered. The voices coming from the girls in the lab seemed to roar in my head, fading out as they reached my eardrums. I was unable to distinguish or make any sense of their vocabulary. I swallowed intensely holding my neck, trying to stop the feeling, but it continued. Nothing seemed to work. In desperation, I ran to Donna,my coworker, I was terrified. I thought I was dying. I begged her to help me as I struggled with all the scary sensations while the horrific thought screamed in my head: "This is it! You're dying!" My heart was racing, and I knew something was terribly wrong. It wouldn't stop. It wouldn't calm down. "Oh my God, "I'm dying! Don't let me die! Please don't let me die! I clung to her, begging, pleading, "Don't let me die! Please, help me! Oh, God, somebody help me! Something is wrong!"
