Chapter Seven
HOW TO RELEASE THE ANOINTING THAT IS UPON YOU
It is a good thing to receive anointing and increase that anointing. However, it is equally of great importance to be able to effectively release the anointing that one has received.
You can release the anointing that is upon your life through:
1. Ministering The Word of God
One of the most powerful avenues of releasing the anointing is the preaching of the gospel of Christ.
Mark 16:15, 17-18, 20
15. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
17. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
20. And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the Word with signs following. Amen. Please take note the Lord confirms the Word. Therefore proclaim the Word! God has nothing to confirm or back up by the anointing apart from the Word!
Through preaching the gospel, the anointing is released. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation… (Romans 1:16)
Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto you, did they minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.(1 Peter 1:12)
2. Flowing In Your Anointing
Peter spoke of How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power:Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him. (Acts 10:38) Jesus simply flowed in the anointing that was upon Him.
The anointing does not come upon you for decoration. It comes upon you so that you can flow in that anointing for the benefit of other people.
If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability(or the anointing) which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 4:11)
What this verse is saying is, if the anointing that is upon you is to preach God’s Word, then flow effectively in that preaching anointing!
Christ spoke that He that believeth on Him, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly(or innermost being) shall flow rivers of living water. (John 7:38)
(But this spake He of the Spirit (or the anointing) which they that believe on Him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified) John 7:39
I believe that the river spoken of in Ezekiel 47:7 speaks metaphorically of the Holy Spirit. Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows, everything will live.(Ezekiel 47:9) NIV
The anointing brings life to dead situations. Allow the river or rivers of living water bring life wherever you go. Let it the river or rivers of living water bring refreshing and vitality. Flow in the anointing of God that is upon your life. You are anointed to bring solutions. Make a positive difference wherever you are!
Please take note that when I speak of flowing in the anointing I am speaking of releasing the anointing that is in upon you.
When Barnabas came to Antioch, he flowed in the anointing that was upon him. For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost (this of course is speaking of the anointing) and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord. (Acts 11:24) The result of Barnabas flowing in the anointing that was upon him was that many people were added to the Lord. What results are being manifested through the anointing that is upon you? Do you really have the anointing or are you claiming to have the anointing?
3. Be Consistent
Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine;continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thy self and them that hear thee. (1Timothy4:16) Be consistent in doing what is good.
Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord. Romans 12:11(AMPC)
Never lag in zeal. Never means never because that is what never means! Be aglow and burning with the Spirit. The anointing fills you with the zeal of the Lord. That zeal must burn fervently!
The release of the anointing must continue unhindered. Consistence in releasing the anointing is of utmost importance if you are to be a blessing to your generation.
Be watchful in all things. Stay pure doctrinally. Avoid getting on the bandwagon of every questionable wind of doctrine that comes on the scene.
Avoid getting into situations where no one can put breaks on you should you get on a wrong path. Operate under good accountability structures.
