Manifesto of Christian Holiness

The Black Lives Matter movement, in all its parts and forms is enslavement; enslavement not only for blacks but also for supporters of the group. But my testimony is this: These setbacks in life are to be remembered, built upon, and new paths are to be founded on goodness. You want to overcome racism? Don’t practice it. Sometimes the best thing to do is to not continually address it. We do not overcome sin by practicing sin against other people. There is but one race of people on this planet, and we are all members of that race. If we want change in our neighborhoods, we shouldn’t expect other people to do it for us. Wherever you live, if you don’t like things as they are, fix them yourself.

Admittedly, because of who I am and what my experiences have been, even today I don’t feel entirely safe around police officers. And the compounding paradox of this is the fact that I’ve been wearing a badge on my chest for over twenty-five years! It’s amazing how things of the past can still stick to you in the present—even when you are an adult. Nevertheless, if we are to grow with Christ, we must know He is about overcoming; He is not about succumbing. This is not a prosperity thing, and this is not particularly about economics (although we all need money). It is about preparing for the next life and taking as many people as we can into the full presence of God. Should we do what we can to better things in this life? Sure, but the gospel has a much higher goal. And as Christians, especially black Christians, we should know that the mandate from God is to subdue the earth, not subdue people who once subdued us.
