“Where were You that night when I begged for my son to be alive? Where were You for three days while they searched for him? Why would You allow us to live three days not knowing if our son would ever be found? Why did we have to endure the thought of him under cold, dark waters? This part of You, God, I don’t know. I have never experienced You like this.”
When grief was fresh and new, I struggled with my faith, my responsibilities at work and home, and my relationships. I was confused about my relationship with God. Who was He, really, that He would allow this tragedy in my life? I questioned Him on many things concerning my son’s tragic accident and I asked the universal question of “why” many times over. But God is not the author of confusion. There was something I needed to learn about Him. In my struggles I ask, “who are You God?” I now was experiencing Him in a whole different way.
While it is important to have a Bible study on grief and how to cope with the daily struggles of every aspect that comes with it, it is of utmost importance to know God. Without God, nothing makes sense, especially our grief. I’m not saying that after you’ve finished this study you will understand why you are enduring such a devastating loss and all your questions will be answered, because that is not so. You will, however, come away with a better understanding of who God is through Jesus and how He is the only hope we have in this world in which we live.
In this seven-session search to finding peace and comfort, Janet Lindsey uses Scripture to bring you to Jesus by asking heartfelt questions that we face in our grief, and encouraging the reader to pour out their souls to Him. Facing our grief in a courageous way through the strength God provides, we progress in our journey and learn to live with our loss not just striving to get by, but to thrive and flourish.

About the Book
When Janet’s life suddenly and tragically changed, extreme grief proved more than bearable. She wanted to hide from it, escape it somehow—anything but endure the anguish of heart and soul!
What do we do now? How do we live? Will we survive another day, another hour, the next moment?
This is a Bible study on grieving courageously. The author’s desire is to help a hurting heart in this process of confusion, hurt, and pain. She has learned that God will not waste our grief! Sorrow is meant to draw us closer to the One who can use it for His glory and to help others in their adversity.
About the Author
Janet Lindsey is a passionate author intent on helping others in their grief. She knows that the pages of Scripture and pouring our hearts out to God are where comfort and strength will come. She has met many hurting people who need to be encouraged to keep the faith. Janet offers hope in what can sometime seem like hopeless circumstances. Her writing is a message to those who seek solace and purpose through afflictions. Janet is the author of Peering Through A Mist, and Therefore, Hope, both of which she shares her journey in grief and loss and God’s amazing grace.
Janet and her husband Ed, host a mega fishing tournament each summer in memory of their son. With upwards of 200 boats, they have opportunities to minister to others and give back to worthy organizations, most of which are involved with search and rescue.
