When Simon appeared, he was wearing a great robe adorned with gold. He waved to the crowd.
“I have come here today to demonstrate the power of the real God,” he said. “After I fly over the hills of Rome, Peter will entertain you with a demonstration of the power of his God.”
Mark and Peter knelt on the ground and prayed. Then they stood and went to Simon.
“Your followers will be my followers in a few moments,” Simon said.
He waved to the crowd again and then flew up into the air.
Peter gasped.
“I can’t believe it,” he said. “He can fly.”
“We had better pray,” Mark said.
They knelt on the ground, as Simon flew away. After several moments, he reappeared over the Forum. Peter looked into the sky and continued to pray.
A moment later, Simon came crashing to the ground. Both of his legs were broken. The crowd jeered him.
“He is a phony!” a pagan cried out. ‘Their God is more powerful than his!”

About the Book
John Mark was too young to travel with Jesus, but he met him. And after Jesus’s resurrection, he spoke with him on several occasions. He was related to many people who helped form the early stories of Jesus. He traveled extensively with Barnabas and Peter, and for a short time, he traveled with Paul.
About the Author
The author served in the U.S. Navy and then went to college. After graduating with an engineering degree, he enjoyed careers (50 yrs.) as an engineer, businessman, and professor. He is now retired but writes novels.
