The Bible was written
A long time ago,
But the lessons it teaches
Are still important to know.
It’s divided into two parts –
The old and the new,
And tells of God’s love,
All the way through.
God loved us so much
He sent Jesus, His son,
To teach us more about
God’s kingdom and how it is run.
Jesus had twelve disciples
Who followed His lead,
They walked throughout Galilee
Proclaiming God’s deeds.
As they traveled all around,
They spoke to people in many towns.
The people gathered
Around Jesus along the way,
They were all eager to hear
What He had to say.
But Jesus knew that not all
Of them believed His teachings
That they did not understand
All of His preachings.
So He spoke to them using parables, or stories
To explain all of God’s glory.

About the Book
“Sowing the Seeds,” the first book in a biblically inspired series for children, introduces the Mice-oples. These delightful, fun, and exciting new characters will bring the Biblical messages of the Old and New Testaments to life for children of all ages. The first book in the series is the retelling of “The Sower and the Seed” parable from Matthew 13. The sower, another name for a farmer, plants seeds that may or may not produce a harvest. He has to worry about all types of problems that could arise throughout the growing season. He knows that there is only one thing that he can do - pray. So what happens to the seeds? Does the farmer have a good harvest? You will have to read the story of “Sowing the Seeds” to find out whether the farmer, through faith and prayer, has a good harvest or not.
About the Author
Heidi earned a Bachelor’s degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College where she majored in English. Although she had already developed a love for writing, it was at Wesleyan that her passion for writing deepened. She knew she wanted to author children’s books. She is thrilled to finally publish her first children’s book, which is the first in a series of biblically inspired books starring the Mice-oples. She currently lives in Florida with her husband and two sons.
