It’s Wednesday evening. I am trying to decide if I want to bail on youth group or just go and get the whole miserable thing out of the way. I was nervous about church before I found out Ben went. Now I’m praying to anyone that I will suddenly get a plague and have to stay home.
“Youth group starts at 7pm. Brie said they will pick me up around 6:30pm.” I sigh and look at my phone. I only have an hour to suddenly get sick.
“Are you going to eat here?”
“Unfortunately I have to miss whatever you are cooking. They serve pizza there every week. And cupcakes.”
“I’m making Alfredo chicken and pesto pasta.”
“You mean pesto chicken and Alfredo pasta?”
Mom sighs, “You’d think after a cook for a husband and 2 children I would at least be able to say what I’m cooking.”
“I’m sure it will be fabulous.” I head upstairs to freshen up. It doesn’t seem I am getting sick tonight. “Save me a little for when I get back.” I call from the stairs. Holy pizza just doesn’t sound too appetizing.
