Sometimes, when I’m awake at night,
And resting in my bed,
My heart is filled with happy thoughts,
Sweet dreams drift through my head.
I like to ponder lots of things,
Like running down the lane,
The tart taste of green apples,
Or mud puddles after rain.

About the Book
Although growing up can be a challenging journey, many happy moments speckle the path that leads to maturity. Childhood is a wonderful time to reflect on the simple joys that bring happiness to our lives. Happy to Be Me leads the reader through the happy thoughts and recollections of a growing boy.
About the Author
Kenneth F. Butler is a husband and father of three. He is a retired educator, having taught elementary school, middle school, and college-age students. He holds a master of arts in early childhood education from Georgia Southwestern State University. He is a prolific writer of poetry. Happy to Be Me is his first published work. He lives in Thomasville, Georgia, of which he is a native.
