Has the church been misinformed and sabotaged?

OK . . . so I’m driving along down a road, and ahead of me I see that the road splits left and right . . . a “Y” . . . the sign over the left split reads “To Life”, and the sign over the right split reads “Easier: More Fun” . . . well, ONE thing I know is that if I want to continue driving ahead, I gotta decide which of these I’m gonna take . . . but the problem is, I’ve never gone on either of those roads before, so how am I gonna be able to decide ? so I pull off just before the “Y”, and get out to walk a mile or so down each road to get some idea of what I’m deciding. The road to the left, with the “To Life” sign turns into a gravel road quite quickly, and as I walk along, I see that it has a lot of sharp turns in it . . . and it gets pretty narrow . . . and there are a bunch of potholes and bumps (some big stones) . . . I can tell this will not be an easy road to take, but the plus side is that it IS supposed to lead “to life” . . . I’ll check out the “Easier, more fun” one, I think . . . so back I go, and start down THAT road: it’s VERY wide . . . and it is quite straight, with only a few gentle curves in it . . . and it’s smooth . . . can’t see a bump anywhere . . . a very nice-looking road, to be sure . . . and it has been landscaped, with lots of shrubs and flowers on either side . . . this would certainly be a pleasant road to go on, and I could definitely get there much faster than I could on that other road . . . but it does not say “To Life”, and I AM really interested in Life . . . so . . . what to do ??? I think I’ll just sit here in my car for a while and take some time to make my decision – but after an hour or so a cop car comes up beside me, and the cop tells me I can’t just sit there, even if I AM off the side and not in any travel lane . . . I have to move SOMEWHERE, he says . . . so OK . . . I got move . . . but WHERE ? I see three options: drive ahead to the left, “To Life”; drive ahead to the right, “Easier, More Fun”; or turn around and go back where I came from. The fourth option of just sitting there in my car is not an option any more . . . they won’t let me do it . . . so . . . I may not just sit here, but even if I could, it would not be going “To Life”, Neither would going back take me “To Life”, and neither would taking the “Easier, More Fun” road take me “To Life” . . . looks like if I want to go “To Life”, I’ll HAVE to drive on THAT road: but it’s so rough, and narrow, and bumpy, and SO not straight . . . so crooked . . . can hardly see any distance in front of me . . . How do I even know if the sign is true ? . . . what should I do ?

About the Book
This book was written for those who have perhaps become disillusioned with the condition of today’s church. Over the years, much of the content of our faith has been seriously diluted, many words have been emptied of meaning, and much vibrancy has been lost. Found in these writings is the offering of some thoughts that can help us regain some of what we have lost. Jesus is still building his church today, whether or not we can see it, and it is the author’s hope that these writings are part of his reconstruction.
About the Author
Ed began his years with the Lord as a youngster, and, growing up inside the organized church for several years; serving as singer, youth group leader, teacher at several levels, shepherding for a short time a Jesus People church, pulpit-filling, and leading home groups for several years, has learned several things about the Lord; later, un-learning much of that, and come to understand Him more truly, leading to the substance of this book.
