The Call To Go

It was not a journey that I was prepared to make – Canada was too far, too cold, and too expensive. I had first heard about the 11:11 Gathering in Canada in September 2011 when I was in Malaysia. Then, the signs kept coming non-stop – from picking up a 10-year old CD titled "The Eleventh Hour" at a shop, to seeing the numbers “1111” everywhere – while watching TV drama, at HDB housing blocks, on bus rides, on clocks, etc. I saw them on almost anything that could possibly carry a sign or a number. I went from wanting to ignore the signs of the Lord and the call to go, to a point where I could no longer ignore them. I felt bombarded by the Lord and overwhelmed by the unceasing and numerous signs. I knew I had to obey the Lord whatever the price. I knew in my spirit that it was to be a very significant and important journey. I only realised later that the words and scripture verses that the Lord had given to me were in complete alignment with those found on the 11:11 Gathering website.

I often do not understand why I have to go to a place. The Lord says the word, He confirms it with signs, dreams, visions, and I go in obedience. Usually, it’s only after I reach the nation and begin to walk the journey that God's plans and wisdom would unfold. I do not understand the journey I have taken nor the journey I am about to take. Often times it has been difficult, frustrating and puzzling, to say the least. Yet, when I determine to follow God as best I can, to hear God and obey, He always surprises me far above and beyond my expectations.

Proverbs 3:5–6 (NKJV) Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Divine Intervention

I had intended to go to Canada for about a week, departing Singapore on 8 November and returning on 15 November 2011. Together with my Singaporean friend, we made a 2-to-go airplane booking, that is we had to go together and come back together. Unfortunately, a few days later, my friend decided not to go due to personal reasons. In order to avoid paying hefty cancellation charges, we looked for someone else to take her place. But we discovered that the tickets would still have to be cancelled and rebooked. We were about to book another pair of tickets but this would incur high cancellation charges for the first pair of tickets. I felt my friend needed to speak to the ticketing agent before going ahead with the cancellation, but my friend was still overseas and it was a Friday. This meant we could only call the agency the following Monday.

Over the weekend, I suddenly received an email from Agnes whom I had met in Hong Kong in January 2011 and Malaysia in September 2011. I had spoken no more than a few words to her. In her email, she invited me to stay with her in the event that I felt led to extend my time in Canada after the 11:11 Gathering. It was divine intervention from God, as I only knew a few people in Canada. I had no reason to stay longer than I intended, but I felt a stirring in my heart. I did not understand why I had to extend nor how long I should extend. And so, my new traveling companion and I booked individual tickets to Canada, with the possibility of extending my stay should the Lord direct me to do so. This time, I booked my flight to extend for one week, to return on 22 November. However, within a week in Canada, I felt deeply stirred in my spirit that I had to extend my trip further. I did not know why or what it was about, just that I could not go home. That was how I ended up staying until early January 2012. And things began to unfold during that extended time.

11:11 Gathering in Canada

In Spring 2011, a group of Chinese pastors in Canada who regularly sought the Lord together began to hear the sound of a trumpet blowing a warning. The Lord impressed upon them the date: 11-11-11. As they continued to pray, the Lord revealed to them that now was the fullness of the time of transition – the 11th hour. Everything that can be shaken will be shaken and it was time to awaken the Church. 11:11 was to be a time of divine alignment and submission to the authority of God. What can be shaken will be shaken; the only unshakeable thing is the Kingdom of God in our hearts.

Hebrews 12:27–28 (ESV) This phrase, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of things that are shaken—that is, things that have been made—in order that the things that cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe.

The bride of Jesus Christ needs to be awakened and needs to be prepared and ready for His coming.

During the 11:11 gathering in Canada, two major prophetic words were released to two people groups – The Chinese and the suffering Church in the Arab World, regarding the End Times scenario and what was to come in the days ahead, leading to the second coming of the Lord Jesus. The bride of Jesus Christ needs to be awakened and needs to be prepared and ready for His coming. This was a wake-up call to rouse the slumbering Church.

Prophet Imiel – Regarding the Chinese and the Arab World (Middle East)

During this pivotal time in Canada, Prophet Imiel released specific prophetic utterances to the Chinese and the Arab Church as we entered into the beginning of the End Times events that would usher in the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Lord declared that war had already began in the spiritual realm and warned the Church of the coming persecution and the need for believers to be prepared, to persevere and to remain steadfast. The Lord will reveal His directives and strategies to His faithful remnant to lead the world into the next stage. The Lord wants to arouse the slumbering believers globally to stand in the gap and resist the powers of darkness because the bridegroom is coming soon. The Church has to hear God and obey His directives, as there was no time to waste anymore.

The Lord was releasing His spiritual warriors from the Chinese world to touch the Arab world and the communist world. The global Church is tasked to intercede for the persecuted ones in the Arab world because many are greatly persecuted and brutally murdered by the extremists and fanatic followers. The Lord urged the spiritual warriors of the Arab world to stand and resist terrorism. The believers are forewarned of the coming tribulation and the enemy’s plan to bring forth the anti-Christ and the destruction of Jerusalem. However, the Lord assured the Church of the final victory in Christ Jesus.

The Holy Spirit Visitation

On the last day of the 11:11 Gathering, my roommate and I were checking out of our hotel room on the 17th floor in the morning when we noticed a seagull sitting quietly by the windowsill looking at us. It stayed there for about 20 minutes during which we took many photos with the seagull excitedly. In one particular photo, we accidentally snapped a photo of the seagull flapping its wings. Later, as we looked at the photos taken on our phones, the photo of the seagull flapping its wings turned out to be a picture of the Holy Spirit – only then did we realise that we had a divine Holy Spirit visitation.

Revelation of My Name

I never discovered that my destiny had always been hidden in my name until this journey to Canada. Years ago during a DTS school, we were asked to look up the meaning of our names. I don’t remember it being of much significance at the time, and I had even forgotten what it meant. But this time was different. At one of the weekly prayer meetings, a pastor asked me for my name and I told him that it was 张佩玲. He asked me which 玲 “ling” it was. So I told him.
