Lately my ten-year old computer became so obtusely obstinate that I couldn’t even get the mouse to go chase its own cheese. Obviously, it was obsolete! A few days ago, Barb walked into my study carrying a huge new 27” Apple iMac Computer with more bells and whistles than I ever dreamed possible.
She gave me a quick kiss on the forehead and then said, “I knew how frustrated you were with your old computer, so I bought you this one because I want you to keep on writing.” It took a moment for those words to register in my mind. She wanted me to keep on writing. I suddenly realized that why she did what she did was more important to me that what she did. Sh. e was motivated by her love for me and her desire to respond lovingly to me needs while simultaneously encouraging me (at my age) to keep on writing.
This book is to help us understand our motivation for loving Christ. It is a reminder that our love for Him is to him love in return.

About the Author
Dr. McCall was born of Presbyterian missionary parents in Lebanon. Educated at Princeton, Luther, Glasgow, Yale, Edinburgh and Oxford. He was for 19 years the Sr. Minister of the First Presbyterian Church in Rochester, MN. Member of the Mayo Clinic IRB. Served on the Nebraska State Board of Parole. A Retired Commander in the U.S. Navy and a Korean War veteran. Adjunct Homiletics professor. Author of three previous books. Member of the MN Governor’s Commission on Suicide. Rotary Club President and an Honorary Admiral in the Nebraska Navy. The author lives with his wife Barbara, a retired attorney, in Madison, WI.
