GIFTS
I have a gift for you today
and you have a gift for me.
Perhaps you're wondering what it is,
I hope you soon will see.
For God has given each of us
a gift that we can use,
even if it's something that
we might never chose.
To some He gives a gentle smile,
a lonely heart to cheer.
To some the gift of speaking
quiet words to those in fear.
To some He gives a brilliant mind
to teach the world its' ways.
To some He gives the gift of song
to sing the Masters praise.
The gifts He gives are plentiful
and no one goes without.
Just search your soul and find your gift,
there is no room for doubt.
Then once you find your talent,
the gift you have to use,
just pass it on to others,
its' power you'll never lose

About the Book
This book contains a collection of poems, many of them written as encouragement to family and friends throughout the years. Some are strictly wishes to the recipient, others reflect her faith and her desire to praise God for the rich blessings received in this journey we call “life.” The pencil sketches are the artistry of Joy Lillie, a sister of the author. Joy retired from teaching after 25 years. Art has always been an important facit of her life.
About the Author
As a child Janice Schnaible was gifted with the awesome ability to play the piano by ear. As music became a passion, it also brought out the ability to write poems. Through the years she wrote everything from comfort for grieving friends to humorous birthday and anniversary wishes. All these were written with the sole intention of sending personal comfort and joy to the receiver. As these poems were collected she was encouraged to preserve and publish them for others to enjoy. It is her sincere desire to leave her family a legacy of love and laughter.
