A Time to Heal

A time to heal. When you've been hurt to the core of your being and you feel as though you are broken inside...what do you do? Where do you go? Who do you turn to, when you have given up all hope of ever living a normal life? Is there anyone else in this world that can understand this pain that you are feeling? Is there anyone else out there that can relate? These are the questions that I've asked myself time and time again. Truth is, there are a lot of people out here in this ugly world that can relate to the pain and fear that often lies within me. The struggles that I have had to face on a day to day basis, and the heart wrenching pain that I've had to endure. Many of you have lived through or still living through these struggles. We think that we are alone. I want you to know that you are not alone. There are so many adults and children suffering from depression. There are many teenagers who constantly think of committing suicide because they can not deal with the effects of their depression or anxiety. There are many who feel as though they have no one that they can talk to about their feelings, so they fall prey to this terrible disease of the mind.

As children, many of us grow up with plans and dreams of a better life for ourselves. We set goals to achieve and we never once consider that perhaps we won't get a chance to meet those goals or achieve those dreams. Some of us live in poverty and see a bleak future for ourselves. Many of us have been molested, raped, bullied and badly abused as children and we lose our way; we lose our voice. We ask ourselves, "Who will give us back our voice? Who will return our innocence and restore our dignity? How do we even begin to fight our way back to the surface, when we have sunken so low from the overwhelming effects of depression that has been caused by enduring so many painful situations? How do we mend our broken hearts? How do we begin to heal?"

That's what this story is all about...A time to heal.

Isaiah 53:5 KJV says...but he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
