Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king of Judah (2 Kings 20:21; 21:1). His father had already cleaned up and put away the idolatry that plagued the nation. Manasseh's mandate was to learn the law of God, obey the law of God, and teach the law of God to his sons, and the people of Judah (cf. Ezra 7:10). Two of the most basic commands in the law are the first and second of the Ten Commandments— "you shall have no other gods before Me," and,"do not make and worship idols" (Exodus 20:1–5a).

About the Book
Manasseh was one of the most corrupt kings of Israel, or Judah, and he was not content to keep the corruption to himself. The Bible says Manasseh deceived Judah and led them to commit more evil acts than the Canaanite nations the Lord had destroyed on behalf of Israel. In Who is a God Like You?, author Meshach Baptiste offers an analysis of how the Lord God dealt with Manasseh, the fourteenth king of the nation of Judah.
Baptiste tells the story of this evil king who lived a life of sin and abandonment of God’s commandments and instructions. Who is a God Like You? includes a select and brief summary of the nation Israel from the time it received the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai until the reign of the last king of Judah.
This narrative shares how the Lord rescued Manasseh, demonstrating that we serve a God full of mercy, grace, compassion, lovingkindness, and who is true to his word. He punishes wrongdoers, but he rescues those who truly repent of their sins.
