Kevin and I took our time and walked slowly down to the baggage claim area and made our way curbside with suitcases it tow. I looked over at him and felt so relieved that we made it home. I knew how exhausted he must have felt, but there he was, insistent that a wheelchair was unnecessary. He walked slowly and the mild dragging of his weaker right leg was hardly noticeable. In fact, without the white cloth peeking out from beneath his hat, there was no obvious way of knowing that my husband had his 4th brain surgery less than a week ago.

Andrea is a wife, and mom of three children. She is an aspiring writer, gardening enthusiast, and vermicomposting hobbyist. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and an occasional glass or wine while playing a game of Yahtzee.
