Some of us probably thought that after we accepted Jesus as our personal Savior and Lord, or after we answered the call God has on our lives that everything in our lives and or our ministries was going to line up undue affliction, undue betrayal, undue heartache, undue pain, undue suffering, and undue unrest, meaning smoothly, and it does sometimes. However, there are times in our lives and in the lives of our ministries when all perdition will break out! If not right now, there will be times when the enemy will use any- and everything to crush our faith, causing some to apostasy and to self-destruct, and or use any- and everyone he can to break our spirits, causing some to stop working for the Lord.
The enemy will have them hoping we fail. Have them hoping we throw in the towel, digging ditches for us, and or stabbing us in the back! Everything will look bleak, and everything will be shaking all around us. Everything might be chaotic in some of our lives right now. Some of us might be hanging on by a wing and a prayer. However, we can rejoice, for this is indicative that our Savior is coming!
The Lord is coming into whatever circumstance and situation confronting us right now! Did Jesus not say, “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken”(Mark 13: 24-25). This suggests to me that they are bowing down before the One that made them! The King of glory: That is His name! They are getting out of the way because the One greater than they is making His royal entry to rescue us! I heard God say:
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11).
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. (Revelations 22: 12-13)
I want to encourage you to hang on and to hang in there: for “weeping endures for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” (Psalm 30:5).
Open any newspaper or view any news channel today that share world news and you are likely to see or hear of wars and rumors of wars, nation rising against nation, and kingdom against kingdom as well as read or hear stories of environmental, social, familial, and religious unrest. In many cases in some countries, political, social, and religious unrest are tantamount. Did Jesus not say, “but he who endures unto the end, the same shall be saved” (Mark 13:13)? We have to know and understand that despite all of this, we can say like Job, “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him” (Job 13:15). . . “If a man dies, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time, will I wait, till my change come” (Job 14:14). . . “For I know my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth” (Job 19:25). . . “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold” (Job 23:10). I feel my help coming! I heard Isaiah say:
The Creator of the ends of the earth fainteth not, neither is He weary. He giveth power to the faint, and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint. (40:28-31)
God wants to strengthen you! God says, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9)! God wants to comfort you! He says He will never leave nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6), and when your father and your mother forsake you, He will receive you (Psalm 27:10)! God wants to recover you! He says that He is married to the backslider (Jeremiah 3:14)! The Lord wants to give you rest! He says come unto me all ye who are weary and heavy-laden and I shall give you rest for your soul. My yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matthew 11:28-29)!
I want to encourage you to hang on, and hang in there because it is a divine set-up. In Mark 13: 24-25, Jesus is saying that when it appears that nothing more drastic could happen, He—our Kinsman redeemer, will in due time, arrive and approach the scene from out of nowhere. Just like that! Not only will He step in, but He also will step in draped in His power and His glory. That is to say, draped in His physical strength and force exerted by God—in His “magnifying capacity!” He will be moving in His divine energy, supernaturally controlling and driving every circumstance and every situation in our lives with horsepower!
