Once upon a time, in a land not so very far away, in the state of New Hope, and in the city of Purity, a forever-true love story was born. A wonderful love relationship of a godly man named “Christian”, and a beautiful young maiden named “Faith”, was formed. Soon this budding love bloomed and then blossomed into a marriage that constantly gave forth the sweet fragrance of a beautiful bouquet of flowers. That sweet fragrance seemed to follow them wherever they went. Nicholaus and Purity not only attended and witnessed their love for each other on their wedding day, but Nicholaus performed the ceremony.
Your author would now like to introduce you, in more detail, to this remarkable loving couple. Christian loves his sweetheart, his beautiful wife, Faith, with every ounce of his God-created heart. Not only is she pure and free from all defilement for all external eyes to see, but even more so with the eyes of a God-created heart. Everything about her finds its true beauty in Jesus Christ. Rooted and grounded, deeply, in an all-consuming love for Jesus Christ, Faith’s beauty is above reproach. Her eyes appear to have many colors, as if a skilled artist had crafted them with the beauty of a rainbow. These Divinely sculpted eyes have been wisely used by God, through discerning Faith, to lead all Christians to put their trust in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior from sin. The eyes of Faith see things, as they penetrate deeply into the hearts of people, that no external eye can ever see.
The clean, fresh, blemish-free purity of her skin gives forth such a sweet fragrance, that all who come into contact with her find themselves becoming intoxicated with the purity of her beauty. Her long, white, pure silk gown gives the appearance of a bride, fully adorned in all her beauty, on her wedding day. Any form of corrupt, sinful, defilement that is dumped on her just falls away and leaves no filth on her at all. A certain, unseen, coating seems to cover her God-provided righteousness and that is what keeps her spotlessly clean.
The most wonderful aspect of this most beautiful of all creations, is the fact that Holy God, personally, sent His creation to a particular person, a person who, before the foundation of the world, was handpicked by God to fall in love with this Faith. This Faith finds its origin in Jesus Christ. This Faith puts all of one’s trust in Jesus Christ as one’s personal Savior.
So you see, my friend, this amazing love relationship of Christian and Faith, what makes them forever one, is not Christian’s love for his Faith, but an all-consuming love for Jesus Christ, who is the object of his Faith. It is in Jeus Christ, who in His love for Christian sent Faith to lead him into trusting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.
In this city of Purity, Christian and Faith find themselves enjoying a land of absolute beauty. They can’t help but be mesmerized by the green, clover-filled meadow that they get to walk in every day. As they stop and sit under a fruit-bearing apple tree, they partake of a sumptuous red apple. It seems that this tree, and its fruit, is a splendid God-provided blessing that He offers to them as a gift. As Christian and Faith share a bite of the apple, and savor each morsel of this tasty treat, they embrace. As they look, deeply, into the eye-gate of each other’s soul, they kiss. As nose touches nose, one can’t help but notice tears come to their eyes.
Faith shares with Christian her thoughts. “We are like a little apple seed deeply planted by God into the wonderful soil of the Bible. May our roots go deep and may God make such a beautiful creation out of us, that we would be used by God to provide a sweet-smelling savor, and a wholesome treat, to whoever may choose to partake of what our lives produce.
In the city of Purity, we are introduced to this God-made couple, matched for life, in the state of New Hope. These are lives that are lived, clean and undefiled, to the glory of God and for the benefit of others.

| If we are looking for a reason to prove why we exist, if we are looking for a real purpose in our lives, maybe we should ask God to, “Please, use us in some way to be of a help to those in need.” Could it be that, as people lift their discouraged voices to God to send someone to help them, that God is hearing their prayers, answering them, and sending you, to be used by God to meet their financial needs? We each have a purpose in life. This could be yours! Many Christians really do want their lives to bring glory to God before they depart this world and go to heaven. They are very grateful for all that God has given to them. They want their very short journey in this world to count for God, to glorify God, and be of benefit to others. The words of missionary Jim Elliott rings loud and true in their hearts when he said, “He is no fool to give what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose.” Their daily prayer to God is that He would use their lives, in some way, to bring glory to Himself and benefit to those in great need. Maybe their banner verse comes from Matthew 5:16 which says, “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven.” If this is the sort of person you would like to be, then this story is about you. It’s about everyone who really, truly, deep in their hearts, want to be used by God to help others in their time of need. |
About the Author
He is a retired pastor who ministered in Missouri, Kansas, and Arkansas for more than twenty-four years. He possesses three degrees from college and seminary including a Master of Divinity Degree. His passion is reading the Bible, which he has read from Genesis through Revelation, in its entirety, more than one hundred times including the memorizing of thirteen books of the New Testament. He is known to his readers as the creator of fictional characters named after various Biblical virtues such as “Patience”, “Purity”, “Kindness”, “Courage” and numerous others who are all brought to life and live in his Land of the God-created heart book series.
