She was dressed in white and the evenings breeze blew her golden hair behind her. Jennifer blinked and looked again but the woman was gone, only Wade was walking toward her. She tilted her head and put out her arms to greet him. They came together and hugged, then she kissed him on the cheek and then his lips, and whispered in his ear. "It worked my love."
He hugged her even tighter, and kissed her cheek. "I'm just glad you’re safe."
"It's okay Wade, God was protecting me." She explained. "I knew that thing was right behind me but I was frozen like before. Then I started to pray to Jesus, and it felt so warm and protected. Where did it go?"
Wade looked toward the broken table and open back door. "Well I imagine out there somewhere."
Barry and Lauren walked over to them. "Well it looked like it worked. I saw the thing go out the door."
"Well we know how to keep it from harming us. But we still have to figure a way how to destroy it." Wade said as he looked down a the smashed table. "Hey where did Jeff go?"
Jennifer came up beside him and put her hand in his. "I am not sure, but as far as the things is concerned and it is what we think it is. We can't kill it. Only the One can do that, and that won't happen until the final judgment."
Wade sighed as he looked back at the group. "Then the only thing we can do is send it back where it came from. I think we need to have a little talk with our two scientific buddies, and a good friend from church in the morning."
“You mean Tony the pastor?” She asked.
Barry smiled. “Yes we get to hang out with Tony. He has snacks in his office.”
“Jennifer maybe you can invite them to church, so we are all together.” Wade concluded.
Jennifer smiled at him and rested her head on his chest. She knew that this was not over by a long shot. She felt drops of rain beginning to fall, and a chilly breeze followed. It was only the beginning of the coming darkness.
