If I change the clothes I wear, is that changing me?
Is that changing me from being who I wish to be?
If I design my hair, another way
Will that say to others what I wish they would say
If I change my walk appearing to be sophisticated
Would that make a man a man, or a lady a lady?
If I change my shoes one, two, three times a day
Will that change my path to go another way?
If I make-up my face because that is what others do
Will I fit in with the crowd, will I be accepted with the crew
Changing all these things won’t work if your heart isn’t changed
You must let [Him] fix this you will not be the same
Changing the you in you, is what you need to concentrate on
Changing everything else you’re only singing the same old’ song
Don’t get mad at the world because they see the same everyday
Get upset at the enemy for fooling you all this time in this way
He comes to steal, kill and destroy
Every man, woman, girl and boy
He begins with tricking us and luring us, so he can make his move
Gets us frustrated, acting not like [Him] but reacting like a fool
Get a grip on yourself and stop blaming the world
Once we improve on ourselves, we can see the true value as of a pearl
That pearl is your outward appearance, so it’s okay to let it shine
The heart still hasn’t been touched, so clean it up as well and you will do just fine
Change the meaningful parts of who you are, so that you can really make the difference you’ve been looking for!
