Starry Sky
Sheep are bleating
the shepherd is alone.
The moon is shining
another day is done.
The air is still
the fire glows;
it offers him peace,
it warms his toes.
An angel appears
glory all around
Gabriel’s message
is the only sound.
Good news and joy
is declared on this day.
A savior has been born
he lies in the hay
of a stable under a star
beautiful and bright
easy to find
on a very dark night.
What seems like stars
are angels up above.
This special night
is filled with love

About the Book
Sharing Stories of Jesus with Children was designed to assist parents and church leaders in their ability to convey the life of Christ personally and inspirationally to youth. Rhyming short stories abbreviate the Scripture in terms a child can understand in an entertaining format. In “Fishing,” she writes: His words of wisdom will be shared and then instead of the fish the disciples catch men. In “Skin,” she writes: Others will run but Jesus stays. Touches the skin doesn’t shy away. Leper is cleansed, blemishes removed a miracle performed skin like new! Dozens of other heartfelt stories paired with interpretive drawings with space for children to foster their personal application encourage children to develop a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior.
About the Author
Nancy Elizabeth Gainor is a Bible instructor, author and retired language arts teacher with a master’s degree in education. Her narratives of faith have provided inspiration and comfort with Scripture as the foundation. Her stories have been published in Lenten books, church publications and her first book—Eyewitness to a Savior—has been sold worldwide. Nancy and her husband, John, live in Florida and have three married sons and eight grandchildren.
