God determined before the creation of this universe that humanity will have a beginning and an ending. Jesus proves the ending with John 6:39, 40, 44, 54, 12:48 as well as when he wrote Revelation 21 and 22 where a new heaven, a new earth and a new Jerusalem will take its place and the sun will be no more therefore time will be no more. Genesis is the beginning of time and Revelation is the culmination of time and the transition to everlasting eternity.
And here is an interesting fact about the new heaven and new earth, if your name is in the book of life and Jesus grants you access to them then you will remember nothing of your life you had in the physical body of this world, Isaiah 65:17, nothing!
