Through this next move of God, His Greatest Awakening, God is going to supernaturally open us up to Him to receive His love, His breath, the fullness of His Spirit. He wants to awaken us to Him fully so that He may be glorified through us as we walk in intimate relationship with Him. There are areas within all of us that have never been awakened that God desires to wake up. Why not ask for more. Why not ask for a full awakening, that we may be fully alive and functioning in God’s Spirit.

It goes along with the words spoken in Ephesians 3:19, that we may "know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that [we] may be filled with all the fullness of God.” We are awakened, filled with the fullness of God, as we receive full revelation of His love. God is going to reveal His love to the world! That is what the coming Greatest Awakening shall be. A deep, deep revelation of God’s love.

A metaphor of awakening might look something like this... Think about a caterpillar, and the life it leads prior to building a cocoon and growing wings. The caterpillar moves only on the ground or on branches. It moves slowly and methodically, and must work hard to get anywhere. Once the caterpillar builds his cocoon, and rests inside, he is then transformed by the hand of God into a beautiful butterfly. It is only by the hand of God that such a homely creature may become the beautiful envy of nature called the butterfly. Whenever we see a butterfly it is not unusual to stop what we are doing and say, “Awe, look at the butterfly!” We watch as the butterfly floats gracefully through the air. What a contrast to the slow, clumsy caterpillar.

That is what awakening is. God takes our labored lives and says, come, rest in Me. Climb into my loving arms and rest. As we let go of all the pressures of this world and allow ourselves to be cocooned in God’s love, He is able to awaken the depths of our souls to Him. He is able to reveal His love that passes knowledge so we are filled with all of His fullness. When we are full of Him, the world stops and looks and says, look at her, she is glowing with love. Her beauty radiates from inside and touches everyone around her. Or, look at him, his strength emanates to those who are in need. His very presence brings comfort and peace to others who are hurting. When we are awakened to God and full of Him, we need not even do anything to touch the lives of those around us, even as the beauty of a butterfly touches all who see it. God’s presence and love will naturally flow through us to a lost and dying world. We will bring God’s life to multitudes, and it won’t seem like work, because God’s yoke is easy and His burden is light (Matthew 11:30). He will lead us, even carry us, to those who are in need and He will touch them as we simply surrender to His love.

So many of my Christian friends and acquaintances, as well as my friends who are not Christians, complain about being sick all the time, or they are battling depression, or they battle feelings of insecurity. They are always worried about what others think of them, so they act a certain way around certain people, until they really have no individual identity at all. The list goes on and on regarding the things my friends struggle with... We are God’s children! When we receive Jesus as Lord and savior over our lives, we have God’s Spirit residing in us! Why are we sick, depressed, and insecure? We are all suffering because we have been unable to grab a hold of the fullness of God’s power that comes when we are completely vulnerable to Him and allow His life-giving love to fill us to overflowing. We need to be willing to let God's strength be perfected in our weakness rather than always trying to do everything in our own strength. We need to rest in Him just like the caterpillar, and trust that when we arise from our rest we will be able to fly high above every problem and complexity of life as we keep our eyes set on God and His promise that says we are more than conquerors through God who loves us (Romans 8:37).
