God Answers Children's Prayers

"Oh, no!" cried Jonathan. "Let me call 911. The teacher taught us in class last week that if someone is in trouble, we should dial 911 and give the operator our address and listen for their instructions."
The phone rang.
"911, what's the emergency?" said the operator.
"My mommy fell, and she can't move," said Jonathan.
"How old are you?" asked the operator.
"I'm seven - years old," said Jonathan.
"What's your address?"
After repeating the address, Jonathan started explaining what had happened before his mom fell.
"Do you know how to pray?" asked Jonathan.
The operator hesitated and said, "I'm sending the police and ambulance immediately."
"Do you know how to pray?" Jonathan repeated.
"Um, well, when I was your age, my mom used to pray with me and my brother David, but I don't do the church thing no more after leaving home."
"The church thing—what's that?" asked Jonathan.
"You know, like going to church—Sunday morning worship, Tuesday Bible study, and, sometimes, Saturday noonday prayers," said the operator.
"Well, that's what we do at our church, and I love 83!" said Jonathan. For a moment, Jonathan had forgotten why he called 911.
"What's 83?" asked the operator.
"The church address in Elizabeth," said Jonathan.
"At our church, the Pastor preaches long sometimes, but I go to sleep. Most times, the noise wakes me up just in time before he steps over the pew next to me."
"Step over the pew," repeats the operator.
"Yeah, you know he climbs the pew when he gets thrilled," chuckles the operator.

Seven-year-old Jonathan always has an excuse not to go to bed on time; only this time, he has a valid reason. Jonathan has an important question that requires his mom’s attention. He wants to know if God hears people when they pray. To his surprise, his mom asks herself the same question at times. But, his mom assures him that God listens and answers us when we pray.
About the Author
Sophia L. Garcia was born in Jamaica and is a licensed minister with Bethlehem Judah Christian Fellowship in Elizabeth, New Jersey, under the leadership of Bishop Anthony W. Gilyard. Sophia is also a licensed evangelist/missionary in the C.O.G.I.C. She is the author of “Prayer is not an Option, It’s a Command.” She believes it can help you maintain a prayer life with our heavenly Father. Sophia currently serves as an intercessory prayer leader.
