Climbing off the seat, I slowly wheeled my bike forward, extremely curious about the reason for all these beautiful flowers in the middle of the woods. While continuing to peer out into the beauty, I noticed a little cottage nestled down in the midst of it all. Glancing around, I didn’t see anyone. So, leaning my bike up against a tree, I started to wander into this beautiful fairy tale land. Following an old stone walking path, it led me around to all the different flower beds, then finally ended at the cottage. I stood there for a moment just staring up at the front porch of this little home, trying to decide what I should do next.
Suddenly, a loud, horrifying screech burst from inside the cottage. I just about jumped out of my skin when it sounded again. This time it sounded like someone was crying for help. Nervously taking a quick glance around, I took a deep breath and bounded up the porch steps. Cupping my hands, I peered in through an old wooden screen door, but couldn’t see anyone or anything that would have caused the noise.
“What are you doing here?” a gruff voice demanded from behind me. Gasping, I whirled around so quickly that I planted myself against the door.
