After the MRI they decided to do a colonoscopy to compare with the colonoscopy results we had brought from Kenya so that there can be further confirmation. The results they got were in conformity with the MRI. I was taken to the theater on Thursday, 11th October 2018 at about 5pm. The operation took 4 hours and after that I was put in the ICU for two hours. By the time I woke up I had been transferred to my regular ward room 329.
We were told to look for external accommodation where we were to stay as we waited for chemotherapy which was to start after 3 weeks.
We received many encouraging messages from Christians in Kenya and other places. Many of them assured us they were praying for me. I could also remember the prayers that were done in my home before we left for India.
When the chemo settled in my body, somewhere around the second day after the discharge I felt a lot of internal discomfort, a kind of distress; an abnormality that is not easy to explain. I knew my body was not the same.
After nine sessions I got a bad bacteria infection and the chemo was stopped because of high toxicity. The infection took me to the ICU for several weeks during which I was shifting between the conscious and unconscious state. My immunity went down and my blood parameters occasionally needed some boosting. People gave up on me although the doctor kept saying I will get well. I was paralysed for several months. Eventually I had to leave the hospital before I could recover fully from the infection. I have now got completely cured and gone back to business.

About the Book
This book is a personal story of sickness. healing and the touch of God in the life of Lillian Ngigi. Lillian was diagnosed with cancer of the colon. During her journey of treatment she caught a bacteria infection which put her down for many weeks. She developed temporary paralysis while in the ICU. Eventually she was discharged from hospital while still fighting the infection. She was on a wheel chair for about ten weeks. She has since recovered fully and gone back to business.
About the Author
Lillian Ngigi has a long experience working as a Licentiate Architect both with the Kenya Government and in the corporate world. She later diversified and became an entrepreneur joining her husband in his manufacturing concern.
As a born again Christian Lillian has served the church in different capacities from being a youth leader at Kenya Assemblies of God to being a WM leader at Deliverance Church and is currently a junior church teacher at Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM).
Lillian is an alumnus of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology as well as Pan Africa Christian University. She holds an MBA in Strategic Management and is currently pursuing a PhD in Business Administration (Strategic Management) at Kenyatta University.
Lillian is married to Eng. Simon Ngigi Gicharu. They are proud parents to two adult children: Daughter Lumiere Wanjiru Ngigi and son David Ngacha Ngigi.
