Introduction
When your main focus is to serve the Lord, you truly understand how important it is to build a quality relationship with Him. This can sometimes get lost in the day-to-day shuffle, and we neglect to carve out time in our schedules. Your closeness to God is water for the soul. A dry and lifeless walk with the Lord is one in which you rely on the works of the law. A flourishing and thriving walk with the Lord is one in which you rely on God’s grace and the Holy Spirit. John 4:13-14 says, “Jesus is the Living Water, and He declared that whoever believes in Him will have rivers of living water flowing from within them.” John 7:38 says, “He is our Source, and our Hope and Our Redeemer, and incomprehensibly, our Friend.” He is the savior of the entire world, and your faith in Him is the one thing you need. Turn to the Living Water and embrace the sweet salvation that flows from Christ alone. An encounter with God is the fuel that enables you to continue your days and live for Him. An encounter with God inspires you to live as your greater self through Him. His love is truth, His love is pure. It is good and it is faithful. He won’t reject you when you come to Him.
I’m sure you’ll agree that people who find the time to spend with God consistently have a closer relationship with Him. You gain a unique communication style, as well as bond, with the Holy Spirit. I learned this can be attainable for both you and me.
It’s more real than you think. Committing to daily time meditating on the Word of God and a constant prayer life will get you progressing in your spiritual life. Just like children grow from infant stages to adulthood, our Christian walks are on that same growth path. We grow from one level to the next. We become more familiar and closer to God as we go.
My goal is to get you to develop a habit of relating to your inner-self. In this journal, you will have the opportunity to document your growth and see your progress by using this guide as your report card. You’ll develop a habit after being consistent for twenty-one days. Here you will find daily affirmations with scriptures to apply to your readings for meditation along with pages where you can share your thoughts as you learn to hear from God. I encourage you to carve out fifteen minutes a day in the beginning. As you continue, you may decide to expand your time in the Word.
The intent of this journal is to use the tools of self-reflection along with God’s plan to invoke positive change in your life. Take an honest inventory of your past events, current challenges, and future endeavors to recognize where you are versus where the Creator plans for you to be. Open your heart and respond to God’s sweet gentle nudge to keep moving in His direction. Remember that God has crafted you to be an amazing child of the King.
I was inspired to journal while fighting many battles, crying many tears, and feeling broken, betrayed, abandoned, and rejected. Writing helped me pour it all out. Now I’m standing. I smile. I live life without fear. And when I love, I love hard. I am humble. I am beautiful. I am real. I love myself. I hate myself at times. I am myself at all times.
You will begin to see change when you commit consistently to a process for twenty-one days. Although we have thirty-one days that you can document your progress, the repeated discipline for twenty-one days will ignite the changes you want to see. Your results are new habits being birthed. Choose habits that propel you to excellence. Journaling is a habit that changes your life. It changed mine as I grew into the woman God called me to be.
Journaling trains you to measure your courage to do things in life differently. Keeping a journal for twenty-one days engages your brain to exercise daily activities in your thought process that will develop you personally and professionally. I challenge you to see that fullness is believing you will achieve your goals as you start this journey. I believe God will use you to strengthen someone else. It will be a divine setup. Taking control of your emotions through journaling as a recovery tool is a test to see if you qualify to reign in life. God’s word is a sure way to recover from all losses. In His plan, you will discover how to pursue, overtake, and recover all that you lost in the past seasons of your life.
Journal your journey as you grow daily.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
