About the Book
Every year Havilah’s father and her uncles have to take their sheep for a time to fields south-east of her home in Bethlehem. There, the shepherds stay all night to watch over the flocks because there are no pens. How she has wanted to go! The work of a young shepherdess is very real and hard, but she has looked forward with an unquenchable eagerness. Havilah is also a girl full of faith and of hope.
The story is not only about her, though. You’ll meet Havilah’s mother Naomi, who, because of a tragedy, is in much need of reassurance in her faith. That ray of hope will come. You’ll see.
About the Author
Pastor McCracken and his wife are parents of three and, as of this writing, grandparents of seven! They love children's books and reading out loud. In the Pastor's own life, the Bible's record of the foretelling of Jesus' coming was instrumental for faith and hope. God's kindness to make Christ's coming known ahead of time is the reason for this book.
