Pg. x Viewing God through the circumstances of life will always lead
you to a false understanding of who God is entirely. It is through the
precious promises that God gives to us in His Holy Word, where we can
truly learn of who God is to us personally. The more we get to know
Him, the more precious He becomes to us on a personal level.
Pg. 14 Putting your faith and trust in the saving power of the blood of Jesus
is merely the first step to having a relationship with God. He not only
wants to save your soul from an eternal separation from Him but He
also has a specific plan and purpose for your life.
Pg 15 Charles Spurgeon once said, “Nearness to God brings likeness to
God. The more you see God, the more of God will be seen in you.” It is
important in our Christian lives to get to the point where we recognize
that God is ultimately all that we need. His Word holds the answer to
every question, the solution to every problem, and the comfort for every
heartache. While on this earth, we will never run out of opportunities
to learn more about Him and ways to grow closer to Him. Though I
personally have many more lessons to learn and will have many more
opportunities to grow closer to Him, I believe He has placed it on my
heart to share a few of my personal experiences in which He has helped
me to grow closer to Him and to realize that, in fact, He is all I will
ever need.
Pg 107 The victorious Christian life requires complete and total surrender.
To completely surrender requires a humble heart and a teachable spirit.
Give your life to God, and He will do a work that you never thought
possible.
Pg 113 The answer is simple, really: you must first know Him as your personal
Lord and Savior by accepting His payment for your sins. At the point
of salvation, you enter a personal relationship with Him. If you also
want to know Him, you must then grow your relationship with Him by
learning about Him in His Word, by leaning on Him and His precious
promises, by walking with Him daily, and by surrendering yourself to
Him through every step of this earthly journey. Salvation is simple and
happens in an instant, but getting to know God is a lifelong process
that will continue into eternity. Oh, that we may know Him better,
day by day and moment by moment!
Pg 115 If there is only one thing you take away from this book, I pray that it
is to know that God is all you will ever need. If you give your life to
God, He will bless you more abundantly than you could ever think or
imagine. He truly is amazing!
