First things first. You will come to know that your faith comes first in everything you think about, everything you say, and everything you do. Throughout your daily activities, you will need to pray. So, not only will your faith come first, but you will also be faithful all the time. The system or process through which you live your life will become constantly, continually reliant upon your faith.
The least of your priorities should be your finances. In today’s world, humankind’s world view is based greatly upon instant gratification and focuses on the result rather than the process. But what good is it to be wealthy if you must lie, cheat, and steal to accumulate it? In our daily activities, we need to pray along the way. So not only does your faith come first; you should be faithful all the time. The system or process that you put in place to run your life must allow for constant and continual input from your faith.
Once you have your foundation in place, it is then time to establish your direction and work on your ABCs. When you began in school, the first thing you learned was your ABCs. Now that you are older and you are beginning your walk with Jesus, you will learn a different kind of ABCs:
Always
Believe in
Christ
When you give your life to Christ, it is not just for a moment; it is for eternity. Giving your life to Christ equates to accepting Christ as your Savior for the purpose of your spirit’s eternal salvation with God in heaven and not with Satan in hell. When you give your life to the Lord, you will need the ABCs again. But this time I am recommending you find an …
Attentive pastor, a
Bible, and a
Church.
To develop your faith, you will need a closer relationship with Jesus. To do this, you will need to learn the Word of God by following direction from an attentive pastor, studying the Bible, and attending church on a regular basis.
Now that you have your direction for learning the Word of God, you need to filter everything you hear. Have you heard the phrase “a wolf in sheep’s clothing”? There are a lot of misleading and dishonest wolves out there. It is critical for you to implement God’s Word into your life. But in doing so, it is up to you to verify it is, in fact, God’s Word. You will set up a process for sifting through the lies and finding the truth. When you read, watch, or even hear what you are being told is God’s Word, you will put it through your process of investigation and interpretation before you can implement it into your life. This should be a process that is consistent in methodology. Remember, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is not in the Bible.
With your process in place, you can filter out all the lies and take in just the truth. You may often hear Christians talk about “God’s plan” and “core principles.” Christians have come to accept that God’s plan is the core principle of their belief. You will hear worldly scientists share theories and beliefs couched as truth that you will often come to know is their opinion of the truth. Various religions will add to the Bible or change the Bible to support their views. They could be acting as false prophets. When you read the Bible, you will learn what happens to false prophets.
